I guess Wednesdays in June are a good time to go. There were a bunch of school day care groups yesterday, and moms with kids, but the park was never more than half-full, which was nice, because we never had to wait long for a ride - maybe 20 minutes at the most. My kids earned tickets to Elitch's thought their library summer reading program, and attached were discount tickets coupons for adults (at $24.99 each instead of $40.99). I went when it was old and dinky, when it was owned by Six Flags, and we went again yesterday, when it's now being run by PARC Management. I've been going to Elitch's off and on since 1982, in both the old and new location. No witness and passed a breathilizer but yet too drunk? Told that it was illegal to drink in BOUGHT the 9 dollar beers from one of THIER MANY beer stands.needless to say.I will be contacting a lawyer( we have all the security and ride operators involved names)! Never ever go to this disgusting place. She told us to keep walking with her huh?!? She then took us to the front and said we were being detained and taken to detox for the previous accusations.HUH? I had 2 beers in a 4 hour time period and my boyfriend had he same. Whatever.we went and rode the Tower Of Doom(which had been closed for over 3 hours and finally opened) when we got of the ride we noticed a security guard following us. We got told we couldnt get on that ride and if we didnt shut up we were out the park, there were many many witness stating we were NOT causing any trouble. Go get a beer for 9 dollars.and no it doesnt taste like gold! Play a few of the expensive games(which are all impossible to win a decent prize), have to go put stuff in a small locker which is 17 dollars!!! When we go back in line when they reopen the half-pipe.we waited 20 mins before 3 security guars and a ride attentendant pulled us out of line claiming we were harrasing her, even though she admited she didnt recognize us and all she knew it was someone wearing a red shirt. On to the next ride.the half pipe.we wait over 45 mins in line and are the next riders, wait nope.they close down the ride at this point. The weather was beautiful with mybe a slight 2mph breeze.there was already 3 of the major attraction closed( for what reason I dont know). When we got to the first ride.the line was increadibly long(filled with trashy mouth teenagers) but we still waited.ok that wasnt so bad. We was gonna go last year when paring was $10.now its 15 n still had to walk like a mile. First of all Id like u all to know.buy your tickets at King Soopers, 25.99 per ticket instead of 40.99 at the door (even though thier website dont state this). SIX, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and the rides are awesome, so have a good time. Watch Shipwreck Falls from a far distance before deciding to ride, there is an absolutely massive wave of water that comes from it. The Twister II and Mind Eraser are the best coasters, with the Boomerang coming in at a close third. FIVE, the Tower of Doom has the slowest line (but for thrill-seekers, it's absolutely worth it). A locker was another $12, but I recommend sucking it up and getting one, because stuff left out in the open gets stolen all the time. FOUR, heads up, parking was $15 on July 4th weekend, despite the $8 advertised on the website. Keep your lunches/snacks in a cooler in the car, keep your ticket stub and get your hand stamp, and you can go back to your air conditioned car to eat. Vending machines ask for $3.75 a drink, and meals are worse. My 17 year old friend and I covered it in 5 hours on July 4th weekend. TWO, In my experience, even if you visit every single ride AND the waterpark, AND even if you have kids to drag around, you'll still cover the whole park in 7 hours at the absolute max, and that's a very loose estimate. I promise, you only need one day at the park. You can get a discount individual ticket for $24.99 at any Colorado King Soopers grocery store. ONE, if you are a tourist or there are no guaranteed future trips to Elitch's this year, DO NOT buy season passes. Having read the horror stories of tourists who bought season passes, I have some tips to offer. I'm a Colorado native who grew up on occasional Six Flags birthday parties.
